Basic cooking skills:

  • Knife Skills

    Class One- Knife Skills, Stocks, Soups and Vinaigrette

    In this class you will learn:

    How to sharpen a knife, use a steel, hold a knife, how to preform basic knife cuts: dice, chop, mince, julienne, batonnet and brunoise.

    How to make a stock, how to make a soup and how to season.  

    How to compose a salad and create a vinaigrette.

  • Pan Sautéing, Roasting Vegetables

    Class Two- Pan Sautéing Protein and Roasting

    In this class you will learn:

    How to use a boning knife and trim meat, how to pan sauté, how to create a pan sauce and how to roast vegetables as well as balance flavors and determining cooking doneness.

  • Roasting Protein, Pan Sautéing Vegetables

    Class Three- Roasting, Sauces, Pan Sautéing Vegetables, Grains

    In this class you will learn:

    How to roast a chicken, create a roux and make a gravy, how to glaze vegetables. You will learn how to work with grains and create a risotto.

  • Egg Basics

    In this class you will learn:

    Learn how to make a strata, frittata, poached egg, scrambled egg, hard and soft cooked eggs and more.

  • Sheet Pan Meals

    In this class you will learn:

    How to cook an entire meal on one sheet pan in the oven.

  • mystery meals

    In this class you will learn:

    How to stock your pantry, refrigerator and freezer so that you can create delicious meals from what you have on hand.

  • Pies

    In this class you will learn:

    Learn how to make pie dough and create a sweet or savory pie to take home and bake.

  • Soufflés

    In this class you will learn:

    How to cook a savory and sweet souffle with crème anglaise sauce.

  • delectable desserts

    In this class you will learn:

    Select from an array of choices of creme brulee, panna cotta, butterscotch bodino and more.

Pricing for these classes are based upon the length of the classes as well as how many students are taking them.

I reserve my weekend classes for the 4 hour classes. This includes dining in. Pricing is the same. Class minimum is $300.00 for 2 people for a 4 hour class. Each additional person is $85.00 up to 4 people. For more than 4 people, contact Deb regarding pricing.

Weekday class minimum for two people is $200.00 and $100.00 for each additional person up to 4 people. This includes dining in. These classes take about 3 hours. Contact Deb regrading special pricing for more than 4 people.

If you are taking these classes alone, and do not wish to dine in, the pricing is based upon time and ingredients. Most classes take 2-2.5 hours depending on the menu. (I have a two hour minimum) Pricing is $50.00 per hour plus the cost of ingredients for you to take your meal home. If you elect to dine here the weekday minimum of $200.00 would apply.
